According to Hebrews 3:1, Jesus was known as the Apostle and High Priest of our profession. Jesus demonstrated for us what true apostleship looked like. He lived to bring His Father's kingdom here on earth. (Matthew 6:10)
He took the word the Father had given Him and gave it to the disciples who followed him wholeheartedly (John 17) knowing they would take that word and make disciples of nations. (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8) Jesus laid down His life for the brethren and for the world in order to save it. He reveled what is the foundation laid to build God’s kingdom upon; love. Upon this foundation of God's love, Christ Himself, a church is built.
God is restoring the biblical structure of the church in preparation for a great harvest (Amos 9:11-13). God is planting apostolic centers across the globe who are led by unified teams of apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, and ministries. This movement of the Holy Spirit is new so many are walking cautiously into it, but God is looking for those ready to pay the price to contend for this move of God.
Apostles are missionaries, sent ones, and messengers who plant Christian faith inside believers who will initiate moral reform, or advocate important principles, ideas, and convictions. Apostles are not self-appointed, and they are not appointed by any man, institution, church, or government initiative, but only apart from the direction of the Holy Spirit.
The main characteristics of those with genuine apostolic anointing and authority are:
7. True Revelatory Gifting (Gal. 1:11, 12).
True apostles receive the anointing to preach the gospel through the revelation of Jesus Christ just as Paul did. They should possess a strong, accurate, revelatory, and prophetic anointing. They have supernatural experiences frequently, with visions, dreams, prophetic words, and open-heaven living. They are gifted in the apostolic and prophetic, and like Paul, they can minister in both areas to shake cities and plant churches with signs and wonders.
"Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit." Ephesians 2:19-22
"And He himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ; that we should no longer be tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting but, speaking truth in love, may grow all things into Him who is the head Christ-from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love." Ephesians 4:11-16
"And Jesus came and spoke to them saying, "All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all I have commanded you and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."" Mathew 18:18-20
